2007 National Underground Spokenword Poetry Award Winner
 We are an example of divine creation. When artists, activists, teachers, mentors, entrepanures, students, leaders, and parents manifest in unity. When the communities raise their consciousness. When our mission meets our passions. When society calls for action. This unique collaboration is The Diversity Poets Educators, A Refection of You An artistic base organization dedicated to community service. Using art and literature to mentor to the youths and young adults. Implementing self-expression through spoken word/poetry, visual, and performing arts. Focusing on volunteerism to aid other programs and organization in their efforts. The Diversity Poet Educators hosts events, festivals, and workshops to utilize their programs. Teaching various art forms and operating open mic venues to promote performing arts and freedom of speech. The group came together in February 2005 working as volunteers on The Word Up Poetry Festival in Norfolk, Virginia. After the success of the festival and eager to promote art to the community, the group of volunteers started a movement, The Diversity Poet Educators. A non-profit community outreach organization dedicated to touching lives through all forms of art. Taking their entrepenural leadership to the youths and the community, creating a positive outlet for the masses that seek inspiration.
